Just three and one half years after being repainted in a Pennsylvania Railroad scheme, Amtrak GG1 4935 was retired and placed in storage at Amtrak’s Wilmington, Delaware shops. Retirement didn’t prevent Amtrak from placing the big electric in a fairly prominent location in front of the shops. Seven months after this photo was taken, 4935 would join the collection at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
