| One of the first "heritage" repaint projects involved Boston & Maine SW9 1223, which was repainted into its original 1952 maroon and yellow colors in the early 1980s through funding provided the Amherst Railway Society. A few years later it was in charge of local freight BO-1 working the now abandoned Bemis branch in Watertown, MA. |
