The daily train to Artesia passes the lead to the big Union Camp (at the time) mill south of Prattville, the mill that under new ownership is about the only reason this line still see service in 2019. The train has just climbed Dosterville hill, a pretty steep, but almost completely unremarked grade.
Photos taken in the Deep South--primarily Alabama and Georgia--from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Featured railroads include the ICG, the West Point Route, SCL, Southern, Frisco, and even KCS.
