An interesting collection of power sits on the Carbondale IL ready tracks. ICG 6040 is ex Rock Island 4790, one of 8 SD40-2's acquired when the Rock Island folded a year earlier. The 1400 was the first SW14 rebuilt by Paducah Shops and still has its original cab. Most of the 68 SW14's rebuilt at Paducah also had a rebuilt cab with a flat roof. In the background is a GP38 or 38-2 still in GM&O red and white paint, 9 years after the GM&O ceased to be a separate RR.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
