The sounds of GE prime movers echoes off the walls within Big Hormady Cut as the Cowan pusher shoves heavy mixed freight train Q580 up the nearly three percent grade at Tantallon. Big Hormady Cut is the largest cut on the Southern portion of the Cumberland Mountain grade and also the sight of a major derailment that took the lives of many folks back in the NC&St.L days.
