Remarks & Notes
A trio of CN SD40s decked out in zebra stripes ascend the approach to the north side of the Fraser River crossing at New Westminster, BC with a transfer run from Vancouver to Thornton Yard at Pt. Mann, just across the Fraser. The foreground trackage is used by CP and CN to access BC Hydro and area industries. The bridge and trackage on the approach actually belong to BN. BN, CN, Amtrak and BC Hydro (now Southern Ry. of BC) all use the bridge, which features a draw span for commercial vessels on the river.
