Two Conrail cabooses of similar vintage but quite different designs are on the rear of a train at the former Reading yard in Rutherford, Pennsylvania. On the left is Conrail Class N7A 21595, a bay window car built by Saint Louis Car Company for the New York Central in 1952, Next to it is Class N8D 22005, a former DL&W specimen built by the road’s Keyser Valley Shops sometime between 1951 and 1954. The bay window car appears to be much more modern than the Lackawanna caboose, but they are truly from the same age.
