Conrail’s Cement Secondary local passes an old landmark in Tatamy, Pennsylvania on the former Lehigh Valley Easton & Northern branch. I don’t know its original purpose, but the large building behind the train was a huge used book store for many years, with three stories of crude wooden shelves packed with old books. My railroad library started there when I was in elementary school, and when I visited, I always wanted to see a train on the branch. Years later, I finally crossed that desire off of my bucket list.
