Expecting the Cascade green and H1 SD40's (trailing units) that have been powering Y JOL202 lately, we were treated to a nice surprise in the form of Santa Fe painted GP50 #3167 leading the way. In some great evening light, the EMD trio is seen passing Joliet Union Station and UD Tower, preparing to make the crossover from Main 2 to Main 1. It's always nice to get a lash-up without any H4 Swoosh colors, especially with a home rails leader on the old Southern Transcon.
