| IHB SD38-2 3861 is in charge of a westbound freight at Cottage Grove Avenue (CP 98) in Dolton. Trailing is GP40-2 4018, GP40P-2 4010 and GP40-2 4012. 4010 is of Southern Pacific heritage and one of three GP40P-2's built. Built for the Milwaukee Road in 1974 as an SD40-2, rumors have been circulating since last year about the possible retirement of IHB 3861. We're more than three months into 2022 and it's still soldiering on. It may look a little worse for wear, but it's hard to beat that old school IHB paint scheme. |
