Conrail’s TV trains usually had three 3,000 hp four-axle units assigned to them. On Sundays, and possibly other days, Mail-9 was frequently used as a transport to move excess power west. February 21, 1988 was no exception, with four sets of power on the point rolling through Steel City, Pennsylvania.
