A Snapshot In The Snow. Amtrak Train 238 was running on time on February 2, 2018, which was appreciated because it was quite cold outside. With the evidence of a recent snow storm still present, it was a good time to catch some Empire Service action on the Hudson Line. The train is seen passing the former New York Central NAS "pitchfork" searchlights at Automatic 94, which have since been replaced with modern signals. Also changed since this photograph, AMTK 712 (P32AC-DM, Phase V) has been repainted in the Phase III paint scheme with the Empire Service logo, along with the other 17 P32s on the roster.
