Small diesel locomotive Tm 232 # 003 of StadlerRail is entering St.Margrethen with train 69229 from Altenrhein, pulling a aluminium raw carbody (end car) for a SBB RABe 512 (Interregio Doubledeck train) on special transport bogies. The driving vehicle is connected to the aluminum carbody via a yellow coupling rod, and a four-axle freight car runs behind it that is also coupled in this way. For this order alone for 60 RABe 512 trains, 360 such car bodies are currently being welded together in Altenrhein and then transported to St. Margrethen. In St.Margrethen is the large new plant of StadlerRail for the building of doubledeck trains, but the aluminium carbodies are still built in the Altenrhein plant (former Flug-und Fahrzeugwerke Altenrhein FFA, then Schindler Waggon Altenrhein SWA). The Altenrhein plant has a siding to the SBB main line between Staad and Rheineck, the St.Margrethen plant is connected to the St.Margrethen station, the transport distance is about 9 kilometers. The journeys take place under the own railroad company STAG.
