Remarks & Notes

Amtrak E units gather with a couple BN E9Ms at the Zephyr Pit located south of Union Station. At this time BN handled much of Amtrak's engine servicing in Chicago. Amtrak units were still using steam, while BN's had been rebuilt with HEP electric generation for heat/cooling & lighting.
