Remarks & Notes
One meter gauge 0-4-0 steamlocomotive "Ticino" operating on a about 70 meter long temporarily laid track at the roadside on the occasion of the Day of the Monument and "Precious metal party" (Edelschrott-Party) at Martin Horath, Steinerbergstrasse in Goldau. The privately owned tiny G 2/2 "Ticino" was built in 1889 by Jung at Jungenthal/Germany for work at the river correction in the Ticino, Magadino plain. In 1941 she was withdrawn because the boiler was worked out, but she survived for about 20 years, till she was rescued by Mister Guido Travaini from Mendrisio. He kept her dry and hidden in the basement of his house, till he died. His family loaned the locomotive in 2016 to steam expert Martin Horath from Goldau and he made it operational, together with some friends, in about 3 months.
