Rolling off the Soldier Summit grade, 3104 East meets 5507 West, which is about to depart Helper Yard.

A westbound Rio Grande manifest departs Helper after changing crews while 5507 West, a 12,000-ton coal drag, waits for its crew to come on duty.

Public (dirt) roads connect the sidings of Wash, Mounds, and Cedar in the desert of Utah. Not far west of Cedar is a cut that offers great shots of eastbounds in morning and early afternoon light.... (more)

This train is progressing down the 0.68% grade just east of Colton. Note that the train is not following the right-hand rule, running the "wrong way" on main one.
