Led by two former Conrail units this Norfolk Southern manifest train climps the hill into Sims Illinois on a hot July morning.

Two SD60I's drift down grade with a loaded PPLX coal drag in tow. This train left late in the afternoon out of Altoona with the "Blues Brothers" the last two Conrail SD60I's.

A pair of former Conrail EMDs, an SD60I and an SD60M respectively, lead a short 13T east through Northampton at 8:15AM.

Although there is a fireworks display in progress in downtown Richmond at 9:30PM, this pair of CSX engines at ACCA Yard prepare to weather the approaching fireworks from mother nature. July 2011.

The last two Conrail SD60I's have been mated up for the last couple weeks and make a afternoon appearance on the Pittsburgh Line with a empty PPLX coal drag for the Mon Valley mines.

Ex Conrail SD60I on local C759 heads east over the high line at CP Field.

A Conrail blue SD60I leads a coal train up the mountain at Summerhill along with a C40-9 and four SD40E on the rear end .

Late in the day, a northbound manifest changes crews at the north end of the yard.

NS 591 slows to a crawl as they meet a eastbound van train departing Pitcairn yard crossing over from the 98 track to main 2 about a 1/2 a mile behind me blocking 591's route west.

After waiting for the 539 to clear and head to the Mon-line NS 591 starts west again heading for the Mon-line passing a loaded 576 with a pair of SD70ace's.

Probably one of the last if not the last time I will ever see this kind of lash up again, two of the only three remaining Conrail painted SD60I's lead a empty coal train back to the coal fields of... (more)
