611 Arrives in Roanoke

With the exception of a line of stored ex-UP SD90/43MACS in the foreground Roanoke yard is relatively empty for the evening arrival of J Class 611.

N&W 611 steams into the morning light past the iconic N&W CPL's at Bowler, Virginia. The locomotive is pulling the Sunday morning Cavalier excursion, NS 958 toward Petersburg, Virginia.

957 snakes through the "S" curve near Blue Ridge Parkway. N&W 611 leads, proudly displaying the red, white, and blue for July 4th.

The N&W Class J 611 heads east under the CPL's at Webster on this unusually cold and rainy day in June. The engine was being moved for the upcoming weekend excursion.
