In 1942 Rock Island had EMD built two special E-6Bs with a blunt nose cab and baggage compartment exclusively to power the Colorado Springs section of the Rocky Mountain Rocket. After cutting Colorado Springs service, the Rock Island upgraded these units to 2000 and added HEP for commuter service. This image shows the upgraded E6B.
