Mainline Steam's huge Ka 942 NIGEL BRUCE is New Zealands only operational 4-8-4. Built in 1940 by Hutt Workshops, she was converted in 1948 from coal to oil burning and the front planking/semi-streamlining removed. Withdrawn from service in 1967, she was operational again in 1991 with streamlining reconstructed by Mainline Steam. This year she reappeared on the mainline after a 8 year overhaul.
