Remarks & Notes
The Grove Trolley loads passengers at the east end of the line. This replica streetcar was built in 2001 by Production Resource Group for Caruso Affiliated on the undercarriage of a Boston Pullman Standard PCC car. It is 35 feet long and 13 feet 4 ¾ inches tall and travels on ¼ mile track (which include a Magnetic Flagmen) along First Street between The Grove and The Farmers Market in 6 minutes and 12 seconds. It has red oak running boards, custom-cast brass handrails and fittings, and two spiral staircases. Powered electrically by 52 12-volt batteries, The Grove Trolley was the first use of inductive power technology in the U.S. for a transit system.
