Imagine the sound, 90 MPH on jointed rail. Afternoon Senator headed for New York and Washington. The Senator was a popular Washington Train and in New Haven days was equped with Pennsy cars. By this time Penn Central E units were hitting their second generation and would require shop work to carry Amtrak to the F 40 era.
