Remarks & Notes
In the last week of "Heritage fleet" equipment service on the Capitol Limited the eastbound train was running hours late allowing a pretty view of the west slope of the Sand Patch grade. When I had gotten on in Cleveland the train was pretty much on time, but suffered an engine failure leaving the station. We were around 3 hours behind schedule leaving Pittsburgh allowing a mid-fall daylight trip over Sand Patch. I'm not sure exactly where this was taken but since I've posted this I've been informed it may be the CPL's at Brook before Shoo Fly in between Confluence and Pinkerton. Those B&O CPL's are long gone!
