| The first of two excursion trains returning from Silverton, Colorado runs southbound along US 550 in the late afternoon sun. She's about 9 miles out of Durango and will be back in town in about 25 minutes. One of the highlights of the chase on this particular afternoon was the cheering section that I developed in one of the open cars. As I leapfrogged the train every couple of miles to get my shots, the folks began to recognize me. After a short while, I was getting a wild round of applause on every run-by! |
