One of the best remnants of the Erie Lackawanna in northern Indiana is this signal bridge about 1 mile west of Laketon, IN. Being called the RX signal bridge, it was the eastbound signal for the RX interlocking at MP 148.27.
With Conrail excluding the line and two short lines, the Erie Western and the Chicago and Indiana unsuccessful at operating the rail line, the line was abandoned in 1980 and dismantled soon after.
