Remarks & Notes
L&N C420 No. 1353 and RS11 No. 952 leave the engine terminal at Loyall, KY on Nov. 13, 1977 for another of the many mine runs operating out of the yard. Coal was booming at the time in Eastern Kentucky and L&N was scrambling to get power anywhere it could. Parent SCL was able to help out a bit by transferring its entire fleet of Alcos. Both of these units started out on Seaboard Air Line and spent most of their life in Florida before coming to the Kentucky coal fields.
