Remarks & Notes
The sun has set on another day as a loaded coal train pounds its way towards Chicago for interchange with an eastern railroad. Telegraph lines/poles and classic CB&Q signal bridges are disappearing in this area at a rapid pace.

Railroad Pole Lines

Album created by member Matt Weldon
Album Views: 32,008
Photos showing the railroad pole lines. The pole line used four basic electrical circuits - telegraph, telephone, signaling, and power. Modern technologies of fiber optics, microwave, radio, satellite, and computers have been replacing the pole lines.
