Deep in Appalachia, Amtrak 50, the eastbound Cardinal knocks down the WS Cabin interlocking, approaching the White Sulphur Springs Depot. To my right, out of the scene is the location of The Greenbrier, a five star resort previously owned by CSX.
Powerful members of Congress once helped this scenic state get levels of service not seen elsewhere. Now the Capitol Limited and Cardinal are all that remain.
