Remarks & Notes
Running exactly two hours late, Amtrak's westbound Cardinal idles at Charleston Station. This is the second time an Amtrak heritage engine has been assigned to the tri-weekly Chicago-New York train, both times featuring Amtrak's Phase III tribute, # 145.

Powerful members of Congress once helped this scenic state get levels of service not seen elsewhere. Now the Capitol Limited and Cardinal are all that remain.
