Metrolink train 708 (Los Angeles to Riverside) makes its station stop on track 3 (the south main) at Fullerton, California, on July 29, 2011. Meanwhile, a mysterious Metrolink train, with Hyundai-Rotem cab car 638 on the rear, waits on track 2 (the middle main), which has no passenger access. (The destination boards on the cars indicated the train was headed from Los Angeles to the Antelope Valley!) No problems, though, as this train is empty save for two crewmen in the diesel's cab and a crewman riding in the engineer's seat in the cab car. The mystery train headed east, following train 708, but returned about five minutes later - on the same mainline - heading west. (A northbound/westbound Metrolink train was reportedly having problems in nearby Anaheim, and we assumed that train was heading there to pick up the passengers, but that was not the case.)
The worst of railroad design. Please, send me your entries / suggestions for the "Album of the ugly trains of the world" (past or present, paint scheme or shape).
