Highballing south on the Delaware. With the sun rapidly sinking toward the hills to the west, the Bel-Del's 1988-vintage SY charges southbound along the Delaware River with a short passenger consist. On this Lerro Productions Photo Charter, patrons were treated to some pretty spectacular run-bys with the 142 achieving speeds not normally seen on sedate tourist railroads. Standing in close proximity to the tracks, I quickly learned to get my shot, cover my lens, close my eyes and hang on to my hat for the brisk wake turbulence encounter that accompanied each run-by.
