Relegated to secondary assignments, UP SD40 3016 leads UP's Provo Switcher through a rural area north of Provo on July 26, 1986. The 3016 was built new for the UP by EMD in March 1966 and would be retired on Aug. 17, 1988. By Aug. 1992 it would be on the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway's locomotive roster where it continues to serve today as an SD40-3 with the identical road number.
