Hell bent to "get out of Dodge" at dusk, four Western Pacific GE's and an EMD unit smoke it up eastbound through downtown Elko, Nevada en route Salt Lake City on April 18, 1980. Fortunately the track was later moved from town and trains no longer intimidate motorists or citizens. Note the WP-painted block signal to the left of the scruffy lead unit, itself in need of paint.
