When the 1923 C&O depot at Cass burned down in 1975, it was replaced with this replica depot that combines decorative elements of an earlier, smaller C&O depot that stood at Cass with the floor plan of the 1923 structure. Here, on the first day of the 2013 Cass Railfan Weekend, Joe Gonzalez is at the depot making sure that everything (and everyone) is set to go.
Oh the stories these special buildings could tell. Originally the brains of the rails they monitored, working to insure effecient rail service for our nation! A tribute!
