Remarks & Notes
Yet another big Philly oil train rounds the open elevated curve towards Smith's Landing on a steamy hot July morning. Lead BNSF AC4400CW 5672 was involved in a minor wreck in Montana in 2011 and continues to soldier on. You will notice the second unit adorns some urban scrawl. The large oil trains have invaded the River Sub this summer with a combination of BNSF and NS or solid BNSF road power with the K040/K041 symbol. This was quite a morning for me on the River Sub with the extremely rare NYS&W detour Z224 at sun up and a parade of five southbounds before mid-morning.
