Montana Rail Link’s 844 local heads westbound through the Jefferson River Canyon east of Sappington, Montana, on May 16, 2013. High above the train is a huge cliffside cave located in Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park, and on the other side of the river is the empty grade of the Milwaukee Road’s Pacific Extension main line.
