One of the more unique but rarely seen locations in Pennsylvania's diverse railroad scene is in Mount Jewett on the Buffalo & Pittsburgh, where an increasingly-uncommon B&O CPL guards the north end of the CP MOUNT JEWETT interlocking. Several CTC islands with CPLs still exist on the ex-Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburgh BP Main Line Subdivision, but this is the lone mast remaining. On this particular day, daily northbound Riker, PA-Salamanca, NY manifest RISI breaks the silence in this quiet community as it roars north just ahead of a severe thunderstorm behind four SD40-3s. The first two units are former SP SD45s, the second two are ex-CN SD40s, and fifth out is an ex-SP SW1500, now technically owned by fellow GWI subsidiary Illinois Midland.
