Remarks & Notes
This Baldwin Locomotive Works engine is specially designed to climb steep mountain slopes of 25 percent by incorporating a cog which helps pull the train up the mountain and brake the train as it is coming down the mountain. M&PP 1 shuttled passengers to the top of the 14,100 foot Pikes Peak near Colorado Springs.
