This diminutive standard gauge steamlocomotive E 2/2 # 3 "Zephir" was the oldest which was operated in Switzerland this year. It was built by Krauss & Cie./Munich in 1874 for the Bödelibahn (Bödeli Railway), which was runing 9 kilometers from Därligen on the shore of Lake of Thun to Bönigen on the shore of Lake of Brienz, to connect the two steamship lines on the lakes. The only 15 ton weighing locomotive with Allan drive has a "velocity" of 25 km p.h. From 1917 she was work locomotive for the metal works in Dornach till 1975. She got a new boiler from Meiningen/Germany in 1997 for the celebration of 150 years railways in Switzerland. Belonging to the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne, she is in charge of SBB Historic and operated by the Historische Eisenbahn Gesellschaft in Delémont.
