| Tunnel 5 - Westbound Approach - Looking through Tunnel #5, a group of about 15 hikers rest in the shade on a warm March day in the gorge. Tunnel #5, like Tunnel #21 is the first of the gorge tunnels when approached from the western side. On this day, there were a number of hikers and mountain bikers on the trail through the gorge.
Goat Canyon trestle is is seven (7) track miles away and Dos Cabazas Station (on the other end of the gorge) is 13.7 track miles eastward.
This railroad was embargoed in 2008 and there have been no trains running on this track since that time. |
