The water tank spout and sanding tower hoses are missing, but Wabash E8 and E7 units 1003 and 1017 didn’t need them anyway during their layover in Council Bluffs, Iowa, awaiting their 12-hr. 410-mile night run back to St. Louis, May 8, 1965. The train had no name and offered coaches only, no sleepers.
