[Plate 525] Slow Death in the Desert - [Summer Solstice 2015 +7 Series] - With the Tamarisk trees in the background, these three wooden Southern Pacific chair cars slowly sucumb to the elements of wind and sun in the former CZRY (Carrizo Gorge Railway) yard at Jacumba California. These cars were used as MOW worker dorms during construction of the Desert Line at the beginning of the last century and have been surplus ever since. The car on the far left up front is SP 1390.
