I finally made it to Maitland Steamfest in it's 30th year, in this shot we see Beyer, Peacock and Co built 4-8-4+4-8-4 Garratt 6029 being towed by diesel GL106 towards Newcastle passing through East Maitland, with fans starting to fill the available spaces to view "The Great Steam Train Race", the train will stop at Hanbury Junction and be joined by 3 other steam+diesel combinations on the 3 other parallel tracks then all 4 steam loco's will race 4 tiger moth aircraft back to Maitland, the diesels haul one way and the steamers haul back the other way.
