If you're looking for a place to relax and watch trains go by, the railroad town of Russell has plenty of attractions on site for the railfan at heart. Along with the restored passenger depot & interlocking tower at the east end of the yard at RU Cabin, restored C&O caboose #3191 sits in a small park adjacent to the depot parking lot with a small fountain & bench next to it. The caboose was repainted by the city in the past year with a fresh coat of blue & gold in the "C&O For Progress" scheme, a beautiful icon of the heyday of railroading when the caboose donned the rear end of every train coming & going.
