As the sun rises on this cold hazy November morning, a small crowd of onlookers gathers getting their photos, and being caught in the mist of a daze admiring the beauty of two century old steam locomotives as both engine, and its crew wait for the 9AM departure time at the Grand Junction Depot in Chattanooga, TN. Today would mark the 3rd Annual Autumn Leaf Double Header Special weekend operated by the Tennessee Valley Railroad, featuring both Ks-1 Class SR 630, and the famous Ms-Class SR 4501 pulling a 8 car consist on a 100+ mile round trip to Summerville, GA. This is also the last weekend of the Summerville Steam trip for both locomotives. Once the weekend run is finish both Southern Rwy steam will take a four, and a half month break during the winter season so the crew can do their yearly maintenance on both engines.
