The changing scene: much has been altered here as two main tracks now prevail and the SP searchlight signals and code lines have fallen. On a pleasant May morning in 2012 a heavy southbound manifest comes roaring through the tortuous curves as the railroad inexorably climbs toward the summit at Tehachapi.
