Remarks & Notes |
Pullman Junction on Chicago's South Side was where the Belt Railway of Chicago, Rock Island, and Norfolk & Western all connected. This was a unique interlocking where crossing gates were used to protect train movement from other traffic while in the diamonds. In this scene, a four-pack of Burlington Northern SW1000s are bringing a transfer past the semaphores and a set of crossing gates. Tom Golden photo. |
