Great Northern SDP40 #325, once the last active passenger locomotive on BNSF's roster until 2009, sits out in the winter sun at the ex-GN Jackson Street Roundhouse.
Built in 1966, this locomotive survived a head-on collision and numerous ownership changes before being donated in 2009. It operates annually at the Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway.
Eventually, she is to be repainted in GN's Big Sky Blue paint scheme.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
