Remarks & Notes
The Canton Viaduct was completed in 1835 by the Boston & Providence Railroad. At the time, it was the largest viaduct in the world with a height of 70 feet and a length of 615 feet. It is the last surviving viaduct of its kind and has been in continuous service for 183 years. Amtrak train 175 rips over the viaduct at 120 mph on a nice Spring afternoon.
