| What better place to take my 12 year old nephew to work on his Boy Scout Railroad Merit badge than the CSX Folkston Funnel. Here Amtrak 166 and 821 hustle north through Folkston with the Silver Meteor as it passes an old New York Central gondola seen on the right. A wide variety of trains, locomotives, pool power, and freight cars helped my nephew get all the information he needed in order to meet the requirements for the merit badge and take another step towards becoming an Eagle Scout. Now he just has to put all the railroad information together and submit his project for approval to receive his RR badge. I'll be a proud uncle when he receives it. |
